Breakthrough

Thank you for praying for a breakthrough. The Danish Maritime Authority issued our final document for sailing today. ETD is now 10am Thursday, 19th February. Praise God for His divine intervention and thank Him for the initiatives of faith.

Update

I am in Brazil for the International Leaders Meetings of OM. We rejoice that we now have the certification and the Logos Hope is endorsed as a passenger ship. We will however need to wait for the insurance to be cleared. this could take about a week. Keep praying for breakthroughs.

Praise and Prayer

Priase God for the progress towards sailing.

Pray for Mike as he prepares to go to the International Leaders meetings in Brazil.

Praise God that the Damage Control Documentation is now approved by Lloyds. This is another step towards sailing.

Praise God for the impact of the Logos Hope in Denmark. The Harbour Master here said on Saturday night that there is a contageous atmosphere on board and that we have had a positive impact.

Pray for those working to secure the ship for sailing.

Drills are part of life on a ship

Thank God for the Captain and crew as they continue to train us in disciplines for life on a ship.

Pray for the many practical tasks that need to be done to be ready for sailing.

Update

Tonight we have a special celebration to say thank you to people in Denmark who have been a part of our lives during this time here. Mike will give a word of encouragement. To God be the glory for all that has happened over the last few years in the Logos Hope project. Thank you for sharing this adventure with us.

Surveys

Today, the ISM and ISPS Surveys will be finalised. These are steps towards sailing. Our target for sailing is in week 8 of 2009. In the next days we continue the process to move into active ministry. Enthusiasm and Energy is growing on the Logos Hope.

Update and Information

Pray for Rebecca in Canada. She helped out on the Logos Hope a few weeks ago. She is now focused on the last few weeks of study before Graduation.

Our latest update on the PSSC is that we will not sail from here before the 17th February.

Last prayer night a local friend shared of how his family was transformed through interaction with the Logos Hope team. He gave glory to Christ for healing and renewed hope.

Work continues

A team is working on the anchors. Generator 1 is running well. We have ordered firedampers for some of the ventelation system. This will arrive by 11th February. ISM and ISPC auditors will be on baord this week to check our readiness. The Lloyd's surveyor's will return next week. It is all coming together. We are still not clear on the date but we thank the Lord for the progress and the opportunity to experience His grace daily.

On Saturday we have a special festival on board to Thank all those who have been part of our lives here in Denmark over the last few months. pray that good news will touch every person.

Today, we welcome 42 people who have just finished their pre-ship training. We give praise to God for His answer to prayer.

Pray for daily spiritual breakthroughs in our lives

Pray for the trainers of those preparing to join the Logos Hope. Pray for effective heart preparation.
Pray for our daily work in the community that we will have wisdom in planning time.
Pray for the teams in Holland, UK and Ireland as they prepare for the ships visit.
Pray that we will discover God's agenda and stay focussed on the good news.

Generator

Last night the Engineers started up the gnerator that has been installed. PTL! The surveyors will need to come back next week to check a number of items. Pray that everything will come together well for sailing.

Surveyors continue inspections

The Surveyors are continuing their inspections. Teams are working to correct issues as they come up. Pray for those working extra long hours to get the generator instalation finalised.

It has been a joy to have Shirley Booth from the Doulos on Board. She gave a special word of encouragement to the ship team this morning.

Clean Up day

Today, is clean up day. Many will work in the engine room and in the theatre on Deck 3 to move materials and clean in preparation for the Passenger Ship Safety Certificate.

Tonight 43 people will stay overnight on Logos Hope for their first time. They will then attend a pre-ship training program on shore before coming back in the beginning of February to join the team.

We give thanks to God for His faithfulness in our lives and in the ministry.

Today is Rebecca's 24th Birthday. She is in Canada.

Getting ready

Last night we prayed for leaders in the ministry. We prayed for those going the extra mile every day to get the ship ready for the PSSC. In the next two days many will stop other taskes to help with a final preparation initiative in the engine room and in clearing ministry spaces that have been used as a work or storage place. Pray for grace, energy and safety as we work together as a team.

Praise God for news of people who have come to faith through contact with Logos Hope people in recent days.

Life on Logos Hope

Tomorrow morning Mike will be teaching on leadership for the Logos Hope community. We continue to depend on the grace of God for our daily walk. It is a joy to see the passion in the community for Christ's love to be evident in our lives.

This morning Ann led a Bible study group in the book of Daniel.

Esther is waiting for her Australian school books to arrive.

Update

Work continues on the Generator and the electrical switchboard. Next week the Surveyors will be on board. We are taking steps closer. may are working extra time to finish tasks in preparation. Every morning a group is meet for prayer from 6am to 7am. In the next few days many will work together to clean the engine room and other areas that have been a work or storage site during the project. This morning we had a safety and security reminder to help us in our awareness of what will be needed to sail the ship safely and securely.

Back on board

We are now back on board the Logos Hope after spending a week in Mosbach metting with Ship leaders and the team at the HQ.

We also met some who are joining OM. It was a special encouragement to meet with Janice from our home church in Australia.

Work continues towards the Passenger Ship Safety Certificate. We are thankful for all those who are helping to complete these works so that we can sail with good news.

Update

On Monday, Mike and Ann will travel to Mosbach to attend leaders meetings for OM ships. We continue to pray for His clear leading for the ministry in the future.

On board work continues towards the Passenger Ship Safety Certificate. Two important areas are the installation of some needed fire dampers in some of the Air conditioning ducting and the completion of the generator project. We are waiting for some parts and materials to arrive for both of these areas.

Next week recruits will be arriving in Mosbach. 43 will be joining the Logos Hope. Pray for good preparation for the time that they will have with us on the Logos Hope. We still need to see more people join the Logos Hope. Pray that many will join the Short Term Exposure programme in March.

Update

On Wednesday and Thursday this week Mike will have two days retreat with the senior leadership team of the Logos Hope. Pray for a refreshing encounter with God.

Yesterday we sent out two advance prepartation teams to Holland for our visit there in a few weeks. Keep praying for the God of the impossible to breakthrough.

We took Rebecca to the airport in Copenhagan this morning. She is back at University in Canada tomorrow.

This week some 300 people on the Logos Hope begin each day with a time of silence and solitude -

Asking God for the impossible.

Hearing God in the impossible.

Our focus is to begin this year orientated in our Vision of God.

Our first Sunday Service in 2009 on board started with a vision of God from Isaiah 6:1 - 8. This transforming vision of Holiness and authority brings repentance and grace that enables us to respond to His call: " Whom should I send as a messenger to my people?"
