Prayer Diary

We are in the midst of moving people from Logos 2 to Logos Hope. It is an exciting and exhausting time! We praise God for the encouragements that he brings to us on this journey.

Pray that we will experience much grace in the next few days:

Saturday, 1st December

Today, Mike meets with the Leaders of OM UK to talk about the visit of Logos Hope to the United Kingdom.

In the evening Mike speaks at a Welcome service organized by the local German committee for our time here.

Sunday, 2nd December

We will be showing hospitality to many guests in these next few days. Pray that each one will be touched by the presence of Christ in the community on board.


Monday, 3rd December

Meetings with OM Germany to continue to plan the visit to this country. We begin the orientation for the Logos Hope community.

Tuesday, 4th December

Mike will speak to the whole community today. Then the OM Ships leaders meetings will be held during the next two days.

Pray for :

Prayer Diary

We wrote in our Prayer Calendar in November:

"Pray that the ministry of the word would nourish all on the Logos Hope. Pray
that God will give us wisdom when inviting people to participate in this ministry."

We returned to Kiel at 22:30 tonight with Bernd and Margaret Gulker. Thank God for his grace as we shared the word at the Partner day with OM Germany.

The Logos Hope is due to arrive tomorrow morning. There is much excitement on the Logos 2 and 2,000 balloons in the Aft Lounge ready for the arrival.

Thank God for His faithfulness.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Update

Yesterday, Ann and I left the Logos 2 and traveled to Mosbach. Esther is still on the Logos 2. Tonight we speak at a missions prayer event for German prayer partners of OM. Tomorrow we speak at a special service on the theme of Hope. Pray for anointing. Tomorrow night we return to Kiel in time for the arrival of the Logos Hope on Monday.

We wrote in our November prayer calendar:

Pray for the project workers as they help shape the vision and for the needed supplies to arrive in time for the work. Praise God for His church in Europe.

Today we have a quiet day on Logos 2. It is a pause before the arrival of the Logos Hope. The German school inspectors came on board to check the school. They were very impressed. We thank God that the school will now be able to be registered in Germany.

We watched some of the message by Jim Cymbala this morning, titled:

"My House shall be called a house of prayer."

Friends,

Today, we continue the preparation for the Logos Hope. Tomorrow we have a day of quiet to wait on God and seek him for direction. Then on Friday Ann and I travel to Mosbach to speak at a weekend conference there. We ask for God's will to be done.

Esther has been sick over the last couple of days. Pray for those on board who need healing.

It is such a joy to be in the community on the Logos 2. Praise God for the people he has brought to share the journey with us at this time.

Praise God for the churches in Kiel. We met with the committee for the visit tonight. It is very exciting to see the initiatives to bring good news to the city.

Continue to pay for the preparations for the arrival.

Pray for the Logos Hope

The Logos Hope dropped two engineers off in Gibraltar. They are now sailing north at 12 Knots with an ETA for 26th November.

Tonight we will have a time of worship on the Logos 2. Praise God for His leading. Last night the churches of Kiel have started a 27/7 prayer chain for the city. Pray for Kingdom Breakthroughs.

Pray for the Logos Hope outfit phase. Pray as the systems are settled and leadership built that we will see the ministry mature for the future.

Ask God to guide us in the power of His Holy Spirit. Ask that we will be filled with everything that we need for His purpose through our lives this week.

Pray for the preparations for the arrival of Logos Hope in Kiel. The present ETA is 27th November. Tomorrow morning the ship will call off Gibraltar and be met by tug boat and two engineers who need to return to Faeroe Islands will leave. Praise God for the good weather that they are experiencing today.

Today many from the Logos 2 were on the streets of Kiel. Some did mime and drama, others connected with individuals.

Just prior to bunkering the team on board worshipped God and thanked him for the breakthrough.

Finally got our fuel. At 0035 bunkering was finished and 0055 the barge was away.

0145 full away on passage.

ETA for Gibraltar and Kiel will follow tomorrow with noon update, first need to see what speed we will make.

Prayer Diary

We wrote in our November Prayer Calendar for Novmeber 14, 2007:

"Pray for Esther as she reunites with other Logos Hope and Logos 2 children. Pray for the preparation that will be given to the Logos 2 people for the arrival"

We just received news that at 22:00 on the 13th Novmeber the Barge came alongside the Logos Hope with the second load of fuel. After refueling tonight the Logos Hope will continue the journey to Kiel. Thank you for praying. Pray for good weather and safe passage. Pray for the crew as worship in their work.

Mike, Ann and Esther return to Logos 2 in Kiel tomorrow. Pray that they will be an encouragement to the team on board.

The Logos Hope is still off Malta waiting for Bunkers. Pray that the they will be able to sail on today. Thank God for the team on board and for the way that we can keep in touch with them through satellite communications.

Pray for Mike and Ann as today they prepare for ministry in Germany.

Insight from the Prayer of Nehemiah

God called Nehemiah to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem to protect the place of worship from the corroding cultural influence of the day.

In the 21st century the walls of truth are in ruin in many communities. The church is called to rebuild the walls of strength and truth in the church.

It begins with prayer.

Principles of rebuilding from Nehemiah 1:5-11:

1. Revelation of who God is and of His purpose

"O LORD, God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and obey his commands, "

2. Reach out to the God who hears

" let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear the prayer your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel."

3. Radical responsibility for personal and corporate failure

"I confess the sins we Israelites, including myself and my father's house, have committed against you. 7 We have acted very wickedly toward you. We have not obeyed the commands, decrees and laws you gave your servant Moses."

4. Rely on the word of God

"Remember the instruction you gave your servant Moses, saying, 'If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the nations, 9 but if you return to me and obey my commands, then even if your exiled people are at the farthest horizon, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place I have chosen as a dwelling for my Name.'"

5. Restore the truth about God's people

"They are your servants and your people, whom you redeemed by your great strength and your mighty hand. "

6. Rejoice in God and walk in His destiny for you

"O Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favor in the presence of this man."

7, Realize that you are called to rebuild the wall of truth where you are today.

"I was cupbearer to the king.... and because the gracious hand of my God was on me."

Today we travel across London to Alperton. I will speak at Alperton Baptist Church. Pray for the witness of the church in London. Pray that good news would transform lives.

The Logos Hope arrives off Malta today to take on fuel. Praise God for a good voyage. They have been through some rough weather.

Our verse for today is Isa 55:12:

12 You will go out in joy

and be led forth in peace;

the mountains and hills

will burst into song before you,

and all the trees of the field

will clap their hands.

The ship left on Thursday morning
