Prayer Diary

Pray for the Logos Hope outfit phase. Pray as the systems are settled and leadership built that we will see the ministry mature for the future.

Ask God to guide us in the power of His Holy Spirit. Ask that we will be filled with everything that we need for His purpose through our lives this week.

Titus 2:11-16

11For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. 12It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.

Tomorrow morning the ship will call off Gibraltar and be met by tug boat and two engineers who need to return to Faeroe Islands will leave. Praise God for the good weather that they are experiencing today.

Philippians 2:1-4

1If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. 3Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Insight from the Prayer of Nehemiah

God called Nehemiah to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem to protect the place of worship from the corroding cultural influence of the day.

In the 21st century the walls of truth are in ruin in many communities. The church is called to rebuild the walls of strength and truth in the church.

It begins with prayer.

Principles of rebuilding from Nehemiah 1:5-11:

1. Revelation of who God is and of His purpose

"O LORD, God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and obey his commands, "

2. Reach out to the God who hears

" let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear the prayer your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel."

3. Radical responsibility for personal and corporate failure

"I confess the sins we Israelites, including myself and my father's house, have committed against you. 7 We have acted very wickedly toward you. We have not obeyed the commands, decrees and laws you gave your servant Moses."

4. Rely on the word of God

"Remember the instruction you gave your servant Moses, saying, 'If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the nations, 9 but if you return to me and obey my commands, then even if your exiled people are at the farthest horizon, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place I have chosen as a dwelling for my Name.'"

5. Restore the truth about God's people

"They are your servants and your people, whom you redeemed by your great strength and your mighty hand. "

6. Rejoice in God and walk in His destiny for you

"O Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favor in the presence of this man."

7, Realize that you are called to rebuild the wall of truth where you are today.

"I was cupbearer to the king.... and because the gracious hand of my God was on me."

Prayer Diary

We wrote in our November Prayer Calendar

"Pray for Michelle in Australia. We are so thankful for the way that God is leading her and for the impact that she has on the lives of many. Pray that she would know his leading in a powerful way."

Verse for today from 2 Chron 20 18:

This is what the LORD says to you: 'Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's....... Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you.....Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.' "

The Logos Hope arrives off Malta today to take on fuel. Praise God for a good voyage. They have been through some rough weather.

Our verse for today is Isa 55:12:

12 You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands.

"Praise God for the support of people around the world. Pray for God to lead others to join us in this journey to participate in bringing good news to the nations"

Pray for Mike as he prepares the word for the Sunday service at Alperton Baptist Church in North West London.

Verse for today From Ezra 1:2 - 4

"This is what Cyrus king of Persia says:
" 'The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah. 3 Anyone of his people among you—may his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem in Judah and build the temple of the LORD, the God of Israel, the God who is in Jerusalem. 4 And the people of any place where survivors may now be living are to provide him with silver and gold, with goods and livestock, and with freewill offerings for the temple of God in Jerusalem.' "

Logos Hope has begun the 16 day voyage to Kiel, Germany. The vessel left the shipyard quayside in Trogir letting go the last line at 11:58. Logos Hope then sailed around to wait off Split for final clearances. The pilot left the ship at 13:30 and the customs and immigrations requirements were quickly completed. At about 15:00, the ship got underway leaving Split and Trogir in her wake as she passed through local islands on her way to the open ocean. The ship will first sail to Malta to take on fuel before continuing to Kiel.

Logos Hope Update:

The new ETD is for Tuesday. Most of the documentation is in order. On Monday we hope to receive some needed equipment for the one voyage certificate.

Today, most people have an opportunity to enjoy some relaxed time in Croatia. We see these extra days as a gift from God for a tired crew who have gone the extra mile over a number of weeks. One brother just shared with me that he now has an opportunity to meet with a Croatian friend who has shown interest in the good news.

Give thanks to God with us for the way that he has guided us through this last week. Thank you for sharing the journey with us.
